An annual membership fee reduction from $195 to $95 is being offered to any applicant who agrees to actively serve on the Legislative Committee, attend hearings at the legislature, and work with our lobbyist as the board representative. Call Judy Haspel for details at 504-915-5205. This could work best for someone from Baton Rouge or from elsewhere who’s willing to go the extra mile.

The American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work (ABECSW) has invited us to participate as a member of their new Council of Social Work Organizations. As you know, disaffiliating from CSWF was a difficult decision, as most of us see the benefit in belonging to a national organization.

ABE and The Council hope to become the voice of clinical social work on a national basis. We share some common interests and concerns, so the board is in the process of joining the Council. We will share more information as it becomes available.
