LACSW President 

Da'Nethia Saunders, LCSW

Da’Nethia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her undergraduate degree in Social Work from Southern University and a master’s degree in Social Work from Louisiana State University. She is experienced in working with children, adolescents, adults, individuals, and groups. Da’Nethia is a certified parent educator, certified eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), play therapist, and brainspotting therapist. Specializations include, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), grief, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, bullying, relationship issues, anger management, and spirituality. Da’Nethia is also a self-published author and a trained evangelist at her home church. Past volunteer work includes serving as a mission leader and team member, court appointed special advocate (CASA) for abused and neglected children, Chaplain for the Social Work Action Club at Southern University, President of the Southern University National Association of Black Social Workers, and Co-Facilitator of Sister Informing Sister SISTA about HIV/AIDS. She enjoys helping people, building strong families and communities. During leisure time she likes to spend time with her son, family, traveling, reading, writing, listening to live poetry, watching comedy, and gardening.
